The engine is a 302 Ford with the extremely rare, experimental, Gurney/Weslake heads. Only 200 sets were cast in 1967. Ford was experimenting with mass producing the heads in a 67 cougar in a limited production muscle car.
This little BN2 was built at the Ford Racing Division in Dearborn
in 1967. All
the pieces were new, off the shelf. A 1967 302 Ford engine, Gurney/Weslake
heads with 4 barrel intake instead of the Webers, a Paxton supercharger,
a C-4 automatic, (we have updated to a Ford AOD). The rear end is
a shortened 8" Ford with posi. This car OWNED the streets of Detroit from 67-72. It was then put to sleep in a storage unit. I opened the garage door for the 1st time in 22 years when I found her in 1994. We have re-engineered all the areas, ( Griffin aluminum radiator, engine completely gone through, OD tranny, custom headers, exhaust,etc.etc.). |
"THE EARLY YEARS"
