1954 Austin Healey 100-4 (BN-1)

Details and specifications at the end.

My name is Travis King. I am the son of Skip King who currently owns UNCOBRA.
I would like to take a moment to tell you what we have done to the car since we obtained it from the late Greg Greathouse.

+ We have upgraded the old points type ignition system and have replaced it with
new MSD ignition system.

+ We have added a custom Griffin Aluminium Radiator to replace the old brass core unit.

+We have added an engine oil cooler as well.

+ We rebuilt all the brake parts, inculding Aeroquip stainless steel brake lines.

+We took the entire rear end apart, pulled out the Henry's axles and had Summers Bros.
(in Los Angeles) custom make new axles.

+We replaced to old tube shocks with Koni's.

Other than these minor changes, the car remains flawless. Greg was truly an outstanding hot rodder.

Below are some updated pictures.

Engine notes:

= Only 12,000 mi. on 325 HP 4-bolt main 350 cu.in.

= Chevy V-8 small block; heads are pocket-ported, port-matched & surfaced
to yield about 8 ½:1 compression ratio (runs great on 87 octane!)

= Crane 272 hydraulic lifter camshaft has very strong mid-range power band.

= Double roller timing chain, re-curved distributor w/MSD spark box and coil.

= Edelbrock aluminum intake and 600 CFM Holley carb w/race bowls
and floats plus extra jets. 2 ½ inch performance exhaust w/turbo mufflers.
This combo moves the little 2140 lb car from zero to sixty in 4 seconds
and still gets 20+ MPG on highway.

= Same owner-builder since 1965: this one goes, whoas and handles with
the best of the latest super cars.

= This hot rod Healey has been running with Chevy drivetrain for over 30 years.
It has classic good looks and wears the Calif. License plate UNCOBRA.

= This little pocket rocket is a real head-turner guaranteed to get grins, thumbs up,
smiles and comments from young and old.
