Updated 7/24/2004

Over the 2003/2004 winter, we did a lot of cleanup on the engine. Re-sealed to stop a bunch of small oil & fluid leaks, probably from not being driven very much before I bought her.

We pPut on a new oil pan, new starter, water pump, timing chain & cover, valve cover gaskets, etc. At the same time, we did some cleanup and painting without really taking things apart.

I changed out the Muncie four-speed for a T-5 Five speed transmission. It doesn't feel like it's quite as quick (my imagination???) but the overdrive sure makes it a dream at highway speeds.

I also installed a new speedometer and tach. The originals had been replaced long ago and the speedometer that was in it bit the dust right after the transmission swap.

This spring I had vents installed in the front fenders to relieve some of the engine heat from under the hood. They came out pretty well.

I also removed the heater blower motor and installed a cold air duct on the passenger side similar to the stock one on the drivers side. The interior parts for the heater were out of the car when I bought it, but I have all the parts if I ever need them.

Here are some pictures taken this spring (2004).
