#2 Engine Modification. Final installation of 1994 1800cc Miata Motor and transmission
#3 Overhead radiator view showing ample space for airflow
#4 Firewall and reinforcement after removal of battery. Battery was placed in rear of trunk on the passenger side.
#5 Transmission modifications. Due to the length of Miata transmission, gearshift lever had to be extended forward. Custom cover designed so as to allow flow of hot air to rear.
#6 Overhead shot shows where exhaust manifold will be placed. Also shown is the offset steering (MGB Universal steering knuckles with reinforced bearing turning shaft). Opposite the first steering knuckle is one of the custom mount brackets to fit frame. Custom made brass tube to route water to motor shows between fist steering knuckle and mount bracket.
#7 Shows GM style exhaust manifold to be directed to the original exhaust hole in frame.
#8 Custom bracket to right of exhaust manifold pipe.
#9 Miata hydraulic slave cylinder. Stock Miata motor mount welded to custom mount bracket. 1 1/4 “ square steel reinforcement was made to 44” of inside of original frame on both sides.
#10 Frame reinforcement to stabilize and prevent frame separation due to weight of Miata engine. Two bolts to hold stainless steel pan to protect engine & transmission from road damage. Other bolts not visibleTi
